Dear ABC Members:
Under our association bylaws, a new volunteer executive for ABC Ontario must be elected every two years. The next vote will take place during May 2010.
It is vital that we have a full executive roster. It allows ABC to be recognized by the Ministry of Education as an active, knowledgeable and representative provincial organization for all gifted students. ABC Ontario has a very important influence on special education policy in Ontario and in maintaining and enhancing the education of students who are gifted. A strong ABC makes a difference. Help to continue the tradition of commitment and effectiveness on behalf of our children.
Many members of ABC have extensive volunteer experience with other organisations or have professional skill sets that would be invaluable to our association. See the attached summary of the responsibilities of the ABC executive.
While we have nominees for some positions, if you are interested in joining the executive, please contact us. Note that experience within the gifted community or an ABC Chapter executive is NOT required.
Nominations will be closing on Sunday, February 14th. For further information and proposing nominations (including yourself), please contact:
- For nominees from the Chapters Eastern Ontario (Durham and east), please send your nominations to Marc Comeau: webmaster@abcontario.ca
- For nominees from the Chapters of Toronto (including Scarborough), Peel, York, and Simcoe, please send your nominations to David Croome: support@abcpeel.org.
- For nominees from the Chapters of Western and Northern Ontario (anywhere not listed above), please send your nominations to Archie Bonifacio: finance@abcontario.ca.
Sincerely,
ABC Ontario Nominations Committee
